I Miss You

Writer's picture: Kalpana SharmaKalpana Sharma

There she was, thinking about how to proceed with her life when her eyes swiftly landed on two cheerful girls playing on the shore. The cool breeze freshened up the old memories and the wind blew her thoughts to the person, she once thought, she would never lose. Her heart felt a tinge of pain thinking about that person who on the spur of the moment disappeared from her life. She recalled the days when both of them used to run out of balance talking for hours on call. When both of their timelines were full of each other's posts. When they shared every bit of their life. When they used to wait for each other's birthday to make the other feel special. Though they never met, they felt like sisters that Almighty mistakenly separated. At times they fought, they cried but they knew that the other would still be there to make it up. And one fine day, the person left her behind and disappeared in her own separate world. She doesn't know why that had happened and she went with the flow of life leaving the beautiful bond closed in a corner of her heart so that one day, when her luck would favour, the bond would be reopened and the undefined relationship would live up again.

Wiping the drop of tear that had fallen on her cheek and had spread a smile, she swayed away the thoughts. As the sun went down and met the horizon spreading the calmness all around, she closed her eyes and said, "I miss you."
