In the darkness of the world
Where I can only see
But not respond verbally
Lies my life confined to INDIVIDUALITY. .
Its a mere sense organ
For those who have it
But a treasure
For all those, who earn it. .
I'm one amongst them
Who earn their organ
To live a life
That you all lead. .
I ain't normal like you
But neither abnormal nor a flu
Call me an exceptional gift
By God, to his special kids. .
Don't call me a burden
It kills my soul
Consider me one among yourselves
Happiness will shower in my bowl. .
I try to understand
Your gestures your play
But have you tried
To reciprocate the same way?
Every day every night
Is a silent show of eyes
Trying to convey sympathy
Mine demanding dignity. .
Sorrows and joy
Making up my heart
Don't get lighter
As no one is ready to start
The nobility of setting apart
The differences between them and my heart. .
People deny me
Curse me ,at times defy me
Smiling is the gesture
Which certainly defines me. .
I can't hear you laugh
Nor can I hear you cry
But I can understand
Your fears your smile. .
The solitude confinement
In the jail of silence
Scares my nerves down
Exempting me to regret. .
The time passes by
Like the tear from my eye
Spreading a smile
As I know , one day I'll shine. .
I like to learn
About the land and fern
More than that
About the normal human. .
It's hard to define
The life of mine
As I don't know the language
Other than signs. .
But I want to grow
Normally like my bro
And so I go to school
So as to rule
My life the way I want
Not just to kick and start. .
The teachers are nice here
Try to release me from my fear
Take me to a different world
Where my disability is no more heard. .
I gain knowledge
I learn my pledge
To overcome the disadvantage
I have unlike others instead. .
There are many like me
Who are now around me
We learn together
Try to have fun like others. .
We are slow as a tortoise
Hardworking along the pace
And as we have seen
Tortoise wins the race. .
Our willpower is our strength
We have different goals
And to gain achievement
We work with force. .
People come and go
For once feel our sorrow
When they see us laugh
Their expressions change and follow. .
A few take us for granted though
They feel it's all easy and has to go
I empathise with them
As they don't know
The value of what we want to borrow. .
Some call us useless
A few call us impaired
Many call us disabled
We call us exceptionally prepared. .
Our laugh is inaudible
But our smiles are bound
It spreads like sun rays
In the life which is profound. .
A silent laugh
A silent cry
An urge to share the feelings inside
Never ending emotions outflow
Just to show
Even we wish to grow
In a world
We all know. .
